Are you sure by "Radio alarm clock" they do not mean radio controlled alarm clocks?

Well radio controlled means it automatically runs of GMT (In the uk anyway) so you do not need to set the time yourself. Perhaps this is so everybody is running on the same time?

You're allowed to take a personal mp3 player at you're own risk, radio alarm clock means an alarm clock with a radio.
