CIC Catterick in 1 week, any last advice?

Post by adamb »

I start CIC at Catterick in 1 week (from tomorrow), just getting to terms that its finally nearly here and im leaving people behind for a little while but its for the best and i think it will provide a better life for me and my girlfriend of 2 years.

Onto the subject then, before I go does anybody have any good advice? or any advice at all? All is appreciated.

Also i was thinking of posting up week by week what we do at Catterick, is there much net access at Catterick and is that ok with any MODS here? Thanks again,

Adam.

hello buddy, good luck with the course.
im starting in april so would be good if you did the week by week posts. from my previouse experience in the army i would say just keep your head down( but keep it high enough to be noticed) and get on with it. dont give the instructors any grief. look after each other in there dont bully or single people out.
dare say you will get lots of advice from here which will be a lot more helpfull than mine lol

good luck again :D

Make sure you have everything you need to start with!

Then sit back and try to take it easy, Cut the fitness down but not totally cut it out.

Make sure you have everything to keep you cheerful.

Get your phone numbers of friends and family and maybe there addresses too.
Ensure you have all the stuff at home sorted dont leave for training with anything hanging.
Finally pamper the girlfriend she is going to have a tough time just like you mate.

Good luck pal and well done for getting there.

1 week for you mate 3 for me! haha what did they tell you when you took you're oath?

I think theirs a section of this site where you can do a blog or something, i don't think the Mods would be worried about it if you kept all the weeks listed in the same topic and not just post em all over the shop.

Best of luck to you mate, see you there.

Thanks everyone, going to make a quick list of all my kit i have and ill post it up on here to see if anyone can see anything missing.

Jstagg got told providing everything goes smooth through training should be going to Germany september time settling down for christmas so im well excited lol. Also got 1st Infantry Battalion training instructions, i nearly missed something inside it so if anyone makes the same mistake dont say i didnt tell you.

In the instructions is a 2 sheet form you have to fill out and send away so they know what time, how and where you will be arriving :).

Will post the kit list soon, thanks again.

Get the speedo shorts, much more likely to get away with them and much less revealing.

Do you have to wear the speedos that look like pants?? I hate them can you take the shorts instead? I'm still a long long way off like just checking as I hate trunks.

I bought the speedo shorts, they are lycra tight just like the pants and only have a little bit more on than the 'pant' ones do. Cost £16.99 like but whos counting.

Similiar to these but with SPEEDO written down the side
