Sigs Reunion 2004

Post by Paddy Nye »

Pleased to see the interest this topic has generated. :D Hope you are all spreading the word amongst all your old oppo's about this site so they can make their views known. Only 11 months to go now before our next get together and knowing how slow Pusser moves, we will need all of that time
to coerce the Powers that Be that we want CTC and nowhere else.
Nomad, (Our "Once A Marine" site Boss), if you are monitoring this discussion can you give us some advice or help about contacting those that matter. What's your view about this?

Aye

PS. OK BarryC. I agree to call my Battery Shop at Eastney "Ours. Just this Once!

Historically the reunion has been every 2 years - I will contact those in the glass office at SCTW or whatever it is called these days. and report back. Honest

Sigs Reunion 2004

Post by Paddy Nye »

Thankyou Nomad, :D
I'm sure you more than anybody can achieve something and find a window in CTC's programme to accomodate us and we old fogies aren't beyond doing-it-ourselves (Running a Bar, putting up a tent or a volleyball net). For the rest, if it means we have to pay more, then so be it.
Good Luck

As with most of the other replies CTC is the only place for the Reunion. Lets keep it at home. If the date has to be moved forward a week or 2 to allows us the use of the camp then so be it. Any later could cause problems with those who want a holiday with their other family members. As Paddy mentioned it is only 11 months to go, so we need to start laying the D10 and get communicating

Regards

:o

Paddy Nye,

Always thought you were a bit of a transvestite, (damned attractive though!) but when did you change your name to Di Pole? Perhaps you've been in Cornwall too long.

Watch it Parnell (Val)! Trans what? Your "Golden Locks" will surely attract more attention than my bald head.
Rogue Chef, Where did you get this Di Pole from. Ive checked what I've sent and it doesn't occur. Maybe steam on your glasses after 5 years as a chef. Try cleaning them! And then you were a Gravel Belly for the rest of your time. Sorrry Sir but this is our site(Sigs/Clerks). What are you doing here? But you are very welcome at our Reunion if you get the first round in (and help put the volley ball net up) :)
Seriously, lets hope Moderator can get some sense out of CTC.
Thanks for your input. I really LOVE you all.

Could go all biblical and make it a ' moveable feast ' -

BBQ on the trot - drinking station every half mile - dry sponges thrown at
us by the crowds of spectators - running curry dinner - it goes on and on -

If we all start up over the moor we should be down again by mid afternoon

It is a serious problem though - pity to miss this event - I was looking forward to the yomp too - I had hopes of making the one trip last for both events.....

Anyway - WE can still sponsor the run / runners - perhaps by tapping into the good looking crowd of Sigs who are privileged at being able to meet up..... "Pick the winner" - Charge for a visit to the heads - ( now there is a money making scam that would bring in a fortune, to be sure ) -
Volleyball roulette - or we could just use a bucket at the bar.....

Any thoughts ? Is this daft ? It's a grand cause lads.....

Dah Dit,

How did you get the date of the 04 reunion? I had foolishly assumed that having been at the last I would get an automatic notification of the next.

Any idea who the contact is this time round?

Barry,

Phil Green posted the details on the Once A Marine site.

WO2 John McWilliams is the contact. Unless your details have changed in the last two years you should be in the database.

I haven't received an invite yet but they should be out in the next couple of weeks.

So where are you in the 2002 phot? I am 4th row from the front, 7th from the left :D
