Infantry or RAC

Post by Coxy14011993 »

I don't know what job to go for, can you please help me because ive got to tell my AFCO what I want to do soon. But I keep changing which one I like more between RAC and Infantry.

Infantry:

Good local regiment which I would like to go in.
You get a better level of Infantry soldier training.
You have to be and stay fitter.

Royal Armoured Corps:

You get your driving licenses for free and quick
Its a lot safer in a tank than on foot. (although I dont really mind).
The RAC regiments I want to go in are specilaists at reconnaissance which I would like to be (Reconnaissance Soldier).

I think you can adamB theirs not much info on what you can and cannot specialise in in any regiment, well if there is i've not found that information lol kind of beeing left in the lurch about stuff by my recruiter.

I don't think you should join any Corps just to get a free driving licence, thou it is handy and easier way to get it. personally i don't see it as a valid reason to join.

I'm sure what ever you choose you will love.

Light infantry for me!
2 Rifles.

Herrick 10/11 Completed.

Home in September.

Yeah Jstagg, im doing the infantry becaus thats what i long to do!
people say are you should get a trade in the army as you have something to come back to when you leave, but rigbht now im thinking bout now not the future when i leave the army. so if your picking a job for the easier way of it and not love it for what you do. i think you should re choose ?
