ADSC - Multi Stage Fitness Test

Post by adamb »

Was just looking up on the ADSC section on the army website & came across this.

http://www2.army.mod.uk/royalsignals/careers/adsc.html

It says that a MSFT (Multi Stage Fitness Test) Is taken at the ADSC, i wasn't aware of this can anyone confirm that you do take an MSFT at ADSC and if so what is the minimum level you can get too? thanks.

Try asking a recruiter online if you don't get any reply, then post the details here

It's best effort hun. It's for the heaves, static lift and another type of lift. AFCO should have a DVD for you to watch before you go up and we were also given a booklet with what we would need to take with us and the itinerary for the two days

firepower i had my interview yesterday and he asks you how many pullups you can do, i said between 10-15 and he took me downstairs where they have a pullup bar to see if your not just blagging so if you can only do 8-12, say you can mate. There looking for you to do 8 anything more is excellent apparently.

Are they underhand ( hands facing you ) or overhand ( hands facing away? )

Under hand (hands facing you) mate. Shoulder width apart legs straight, pull yourself so your chins past the bar then down until your straight again.

I've just passed ADSC and can say its not how many heaves you can do the main things are the 45 and 50 kg static lifts and two other test which record your upper and lower back strength, The jerry can carry and 1.5 mile run is equally important as are the team tasks if you dont get involved in the team tasks and stay quiet and dont motivate your team or give any ideas than you will fail ADSC as one lad in my group did, Also be confident in the icebreaker because thats a big score too.

The sergeant major i spoke to said apart from the 1.5mile run the rest is pretty much your best effort he said to give 110% all the time and you'll be fine. Where did you take ADSC gooner?

I did mine up at glencorse, Yeah most of it is best effort the run and team tasks are probably the most important as i said one lad failed just on the team tasks. It was a good experience hard work but really good.
