I was up in Brecon for the past few days, with a mate, walking (around the Pen-y-fan area).
We saw two different groups of people wearing DPM and with military bergens etc. so were trying to work out who they were. Now I believe the SAS train/select around that area, but there was a female in one of the groups (no females in infantry or SAS I thought). They were carrying M16's (apart from a few who i presume were instructors/ group leaders). This is what confused me the most, as I didn't think that any part of the regular (British) army used these.
Other info:
- they all had high-visibility jackets folded into the top of their bergens (so it was visible but not flap around), apart from the non-weapon carriers).
- they were doing a lot of running up hills.
- They were in groups of about 10.
Thanks for any help.
