Aptitude Tests

Post by Marc »

Right straight to the point, I've got my aptitude tests coming up this coming Wednesday and I've got a few questions I would like to ask. Any answers will be much appreciated and a great help. :)

1) What type of clothes will I be required to wear? Smart, smart-casual or just casual?

2) Any websites which can help me to practice the sort of questions which might come up?

3)What's the pass mark for the RAF regiment? (Just a gunner)

Sorry in advance if any of these questions have already been asked previously in different posts.

Hi Marc
When I did my apptitude tests last year I turned up to the AFCO in casual clothing jeans, hoodie etc.
I don't know if there are any websites to help you prepare for the test but I just scanned through the booklet which should have been given to you at the AFCO!
The test score for Regt Gunner is pretty low as it is basically the infantry but as I wanted a gunner position, I didn't really worry about revising for the tests, it's was just simple maths and English similar to high school, but I did do pretty poorly as the only job I got was offered was Regt Gunner :P lol But I was not bothered too much I got the scores for the job I wanted :D

If you go to your AFCO you can get a book with a mock test in it.

It's basically just simple maths and English to make sure you have at least a few brain cells. Any GCSE revision site (is bitesize still around?) should help.

I tried for the Navy about 2 year ago. unfortunately failed my Psychometric, and that was on my maths I literally came out of school then and my maths was really bad. I think you only get 2 chances at trying for the forces don't you?

Looking to go for regiment this year.

When you did your AST's did you have the presentation after? If so, what does it entail? Are they looking for those that ask questions, or are you ok just sat listening? Because to be honest I have no questions to ask, I'm happy with everything already and any questions I did have were answered on various forums.

When I did my AST's the presentation took place just after the tests, and just consisted of them telling you stuff which you will need to know for your interview. Myself I didn't really have any questions as I was happy with everything I knew. However they do ask if any people have any questions and I'm sure they would be happy to answer them. :)
