What should I do?

Post by Warfordd »

Hello!

Well, I'm 15 and I have always fancied a career in the RAF but never really chosen a speciality as it were.

My mum and dad were both in the RAF and I have had a taste of service life ever since a Lil'n :) I thoroughlly enjoyed growing up around the RAF Living in many different places and meeting lots of new places :)

I'm getting to the age where I'm deciding what I'd like to do with the rest of my life.
I'm currently at school Studying Double award GCSE Pe, Art and ICT.
I've been predicted C's in all of my subjects apart from PE (I'm Predicted an A :D)

I plan to go on and study A level sports and fitness at college.

I would like to say I am physically fit and love to take care of my fitness, I run most nights and go to the gym.
I currently play Hockey for my county.
I could easily do the 1.5 Mile run in under 9 minutes (8:42 = PB)
Sports is basically my life I play many sports for different teams and clubs, Rugby, Footy, Hockey (County) and I've been doing Karate for 7 years now :P

I am looking more towards the sports and fitness side of the RAF and in particular A PTI.

However I'm not sure as this is the right choice of job as I have heard many bad things about the Job and many people 'slagging' it off :(

Please suggest any Jobs in the RAF that would suit me,

Thanks in advance,
Rob - Forddy :D

Welcome to the forums mate. :)
Regarding advice on jobs that would suit you I don't think anyone here can really give you any solid advice on that since none if us know you! :P
You seem to have at least a rough idea on jobs and roles that appeal to you so I reccommend getting yourself down to your local AFCO and having a chat with somebody there. You might end up seeing something that you never even thought of really appealing to you so at this stage stay as open minded as possible. You can also get some booklets and that (or you can send of for them via the RAF website) to have a look at and you can check out a lot of the jobs somewhere on the RAF site as well.
Sorry for being brief mate but I'm on my iPhone so it's a shite typing. :P

You should have a go at doing A-levels mate. It will give you an extra two years to think about it, and if you pass more job opportunities ( Spelling?.. ) will become open to you.
