Driving?

Post by hopeful gunner 17 »

Hi,
I start my TG course on June 1st 2008, but I was wondering when I get to the point of the driving side of training what does this intail? Is undertaken as it is in civvy street or is it less harsh because I am really rubbish at driving?

A member of my family was killed in a car crash and it was the others driver's fault as he was crap at driving so I hate rubbish drivers on the road (no offense though). I don't know if it is less harsh or harsher than civvy street but if you do pass the driving test etc please do put the practice in, and try to get better at driving.

All the best mate

I don't know about driver trainng with the RAF, but in the Army it's often civilian driving intructors.

Are you worried about how harsh they're going to be with you?

Are you sure you're cut out for service life?

Are you doing a normal driving lincence course or a HGV course? Is it part of you RAF training, as in are you going for a driving specilization?

They'll expect you to be rubbish. Learner drivers always are.

Just replying to some of the messages. I'm not that much of a bad driver it's just that I always become nervous when I stall etc as it knocks my confidence. And I am ready for service as I have wanted to join the RAF Regt for a long time and I can't wait until I start my TG course.

Alrite chaps. The driving course is done after you graduate and is a one week intensive course run by civilian instructors. So basically exactly the same as civvies do.
