quick update

Alright gents?

It's been a while so I thought I'd give you a quick update.

I've made it to week 29 as an original in my troop, but was put in Hunter company two weeks ago because I've got ITBS (Iliotibial Band Syndrome) So, pretty pissed off about that...

My troop are probably running the endurance course as I type this and by Wednesday will have earned their green lids.

Anyway... I've been given a time frame (in Hunter) between 2 weeks and 6 months. Quite a big time frame really lol.

That's about it from me. I'll be about for the weekend (Not tonight though ) So if you've got any q's about training up until field firing, ask away.

Sorry to hear that Polynikes. You made it as far as you did though, that is very respectable, and at least you get to train for the commando tests. Hopefully in due time you'll come fresh out of hunter and smash them !.

My only questions would be running distance. What would you say is the longest run your troop has had to do ?, and what is the time constraint. I understood they want you running 7 minute miles, at all times, is this correct ?.

Hmm… the longest run I think was five miles. But we did a four miler at a six minute mile pace. It was only set at that pace because we had a reputation for being a fit troop… I don’t know where you got the 7 minute miles from.

The endurance is four miles out, two miles of tunnels and four miles back carrying webbing and weapon… 10 miles but you won't have to worry about that for a long time.

Basically, the long distance stuff is usually a speed march… A little bit of a run and a little bit of a walk

Thanks very much for the response. I actually got the 7 minute mile pace from watching the Commando on the Front Line T.V show. I believe near the start Officer Orlando tells the troops they need to get use to running 7 minute miles. You'd know more then me obviously though .

Only twelve originals left in the troop, with about ten backtroopers. 3 failed the endurance course yesterday. All the originals passed distinguished... that's why.

Hey Polynikes! sorry to hear about being Huntered, it's a bummer! Dont let it get you down though mate, I let it get to me and made a daft choice. could you PM me the originals names who are still there please mate? Would be really interesting to see!

Say hi to all 946 who are still there and wish them the best! I will be back down at CTC soon as I'm rejoining. A lesson to all....wrapping doesn't work, you just want to go back! LOL

Things are finally moving forward... Made it in to Hunter Two last friday, and looking at being trooped just after summer leave.
