Hi I had my medical last month, told them I had slight asthma when I was 9 years old (big mistake),
They told me I could have to go for a lung scan when everything is sorted with medical notes. In the meantime I have to rcord a peak flow chart.
Now I had to get my medical notes from my GP, he said there is no record of me having asthma. He sent them form back to the Royal Navy doctor, but as of yet I ain't heard anything from them.
What do you think will come of this?
Any comments would help.
Regards

Well done for being honest. At least when your further tests are done and you are passed fit, you dont have to worry about being found out further down the line.
Personally, I think if they were going to fail you purely on having asthma in your youth, they would have done it by now. Best to be honest.

Yes best to be honest, don't worry about not getting accepted to something you waited so long for (presumably) because of a minor problem that has had no effect since. Instead you could be something you don't want to be for the rest of your life and be miserable. BUT you can always look back and say, At least I can say I was honest !

So he lies to get in, then goes down in the field with the same problem when his oppos are relying on him to do a job and potentially save their lives?TomClarke wrote:Yes best to be honest, don't worry about not getting accepted to something you waited so long for (presumably) because of a minor problem that has had no effect since. Exactly I Agree totallyFairy_Dust wrote:He wouldn't be lieing about anything, because he doesn't have asthma anymore. His post has cemented in my mind that I would/will also do the same thing.
? grow up ? ahh yes might you be the twenty eight year old thats had all the life experiance in the world.
Mayby if you thought about the post you would understand that this doesnt effect him anymore but then again he could suddenly get asthma in the field, Its not as if hes been through 32 weeks of training to prove to him self and the training staff at lympstone he is fit enough.
Fair enough it could come back on him but its more likely to do so in training before hand and the instructors would pick up on something like this and would not deem him fit.
