Psychometric Test

Post by GuyNamedBob »

Hey everyone.

When you get to do the Psychometric Examination (it's all about judging your personality right?), do they mark you badly if you put one answer meaning...

'I work well with others.'

and on a different one worded differently...

'I'm not a team player.' Or however you want.
I know I'm likely to do something along these lines at least once .

How important is this test towards their final decision?

Thanks everyone.

It's not that kind of test.

It's more reasoning, English, maths, that kind of thing.

It's very easy, don't stress about it.

I'm not saying it's hard but you CANNOT wing it. Make sure do some proper revision for it. As the questions in the section go on they do get harder, so just doing the ones in the practice booklet isn't enough, well, in my opinion anyway.

Good Luck

I guess it depends on each person tho, i didnt do any revision other than the practise questions and i got in the high 90s according to the afco man, never asked what I actually got. I missed the last 4 questions tho. Thought I had more time than I did hehe, so if there is one tip I can give is do practise tests by all means, but be very strick about time limits!

Cheers

Didn't revise - passed.

Obviously depends on your intellect, but imho it was a piece of piss and managed every question.

I hope your not questioning my intellect.

Well done for passing.... In my quote I was thinking about officer application, but if you found it a piece of piss, I'm sure you would have been fine anyway.

Ha ha, not questioning your intellect, none of my concern. I still think they are piss easy though.

Good luck on your re-take.

Here you go. Theres loads of tests around, you just have to find them, including the links down the side of the page. I'm sure you will find one or two helpful tests.

Revision will get you used to the type of question you'll be asked, but you can't revise mechanical comprehension and reasoning. Even so, the tests are not that hard - unless you're going for some sort of engineering branch/regiment/corps?

Hey guys thanks. I tried using google, and found a few good results. The first though was very much how I described and wondered if thats how it would be for the Marines (as this one was just a random one for anything).

I'm not 100% sure if I want to branch off and do other things within the Marines, yet.
