Car insurance

Post by misterpurple »

Just passed me test. Anyway, insurance is a bitch 'cos I'm a bloke. BUT, i have an ingenious plan to declare myself a pre-op transexual (i think that's the right one) - a woman in a man's body - in order to get it cheaper. Has anyone tried this, and would it work or would i just get banged up for insurance fraud? Serious question.

If you are actually serious about telling them this (which I seriously doubt) you may as well not bother getting insurance at all.

Providing an insurance company with false information is a criminal offense and will, at best, void your policy and, at worst, land you in court.

But saying hes pre-op isn't lying, hes still a man and hasn't had the operation to turn him to a women, thus pre-op. They can't ell if he feels a women inside, I doubt they'ld give you lower premiums for that though, probably goes on your birth certificate.

Just curious, but how much have you been quoted?

Confused.com is my best suggestion.

I have a Alfa GTV 3.0 V6 and im 25, but luckily I live in a rural area so its a low risk area.

Put your mum/wife/girl friend on your insurance as well, should lower it a bit.

Unfortunately its going to be a bitch when you've only just passed.

Mine is on a specialist now and becuase it has a tracker the quote is lower than the last company. Try Llyod's inurance they used to have a good comparison site and I used them a couple of times.

Reminds me of a sign I once saw round the back of a pub.

I'm going to call up my insurance company now just to tell them I have no penis, will let you know what the result is.

That's disgusting! Even if you're driving the 1.8hgt that's an awful quote! You can do much better by shopping around.

Some people really rate confused but everytime my renewal comes round I always get it cheaper by shopping around myself.

I currently pay £310 fully comp. on a 2.0l 306 Gti. I'm 22 and that's with RAC.

How did you manage this then? My 22 year old mate with 5 years NCB pays £1200 a year on the same car. I'd seriously like to know because I might able to save him money if this is true.

just get a quote from an insurance company. Then try www.bell.co.uk they will ask you your best quote. mine was something like 3,000. I put in all the details i said i would only drive 4,000 miles a year which aint too far off the mark. They asked for my no claims obviously i told them how much of that i had. I put my mum on the policy as a named driver she has lots of no claims. Thats the quote they gave me, with them you can kind of customise the policy you want so i put in 3rd party with none of the extras such as legal protection etc. I know its hard to believe but try it.
