Basic training in regiment.

I was just wondering is the 9 weeks basic u do before your TG the same as any other one joining the RAF would do or is it completley different. I know the TG is completly unique to gunner but was just wondering about the basic before TG.

I personally have very limited knowledge about the RAF, but (and I my be wrong) my way of thinking is that the Gunner have a completely different role to a pilot, cook etc there for there training will be completely different and infantry based. After all what’s the point in a gunner knowing how to pilot a craft or a pilot knowing how to patrol or have extensive small arms weapons training and spending a lot of time on a firing range (It would just be pointless)

As I said not sure on it all and you'll probably get a better answer, but its just my 2 penny’s worth
