Hey guys, I'm pretty new to these forums so apologies in advance if I say anything out of place.
I've been interested in joining the RM for sometime now and i'm at a stage where I want to give it a go, otherwise I may regret it in years to come.
My nearest Detachment is Bristol, but I'm mostly likely to be moving to Bournemouth area in Sept as I'm starting a new job.
I really want to crack on with my application for RMR, so could anyone tell me when the next presentation is in the Bristol area? Just thought I'd try and get a heads up before ringing the recruitment guys.
Also does anyone know the 2 annual intake dates for Bristol and Poole?
Cheers in advance, any help appreciated!

The presentation evening is the first Wednesday of the month, so that makes it the 6th June.
Regarding the selection weekend there will be one in October and then another around May time. (Poole is part of RMR Bristol so the dates will be the same) I believe Holding troop starts next week so once you have squarred away all your admin you will be able to join that. HT is run every two weeks up to the selection weekend.
Good luck buddy.

Cheers for that advice Beowulf.
I spoke to RMR Bristol last night and they're going to send me some stuff through the post and then I'll go down on the 6th to get more of an insight and crack on with the admin.
I'll be moving to Bournemouth in September so if I get the admin out the way beforehand at Bristol, could I get in on the selection weekend in October in Poole do you think?

No worries matey,
Yeah you will have no problem in getting the admin out of the way by then. The sooner you get it done the sooner you can start HT which is very worthwhile. The Selection weekend will be at Bristol anyway as all the dets meet at HQ for the weekend. There will be no issues in getting your paperwork transferred between the AFCOs.
Good luck with the process and feel free to pm me at any time should you have any questions.

Hello there
I'm with Beowulf on the phase 1 course with RMR Bristol but from the Poole Det. As far as I have been told there is no holding troop at Poole but I should imagine there would be no problem with you going along.
Best thing to do is ask for the number for Poole Det and give them a ring direct.
