Post by k2thep »

Im sure it said you couldnt join if you have eczema, it says on the application form so if someone who still has the explanation booklet may clear it up more for you.

Where's the harm in applying? As far as I know, dry skin isn't a health problem.

Worse case scenario is you fail the medical for having 'dry skin' (to be honest... I'm sure you can find some type of moisturiser)

Best case scenario... well, you get your green lid.

Up to you mate

Your only going to know if you apply. The guys at the AFCO wont be able to tell you much.

Im in the same situation, the guy told me to apply and ill find out, so thats what I did. Interview on Thursday then hopefully the medical soon after.

I have psyrisis (or how ever its spelt) which is like excema, the med form said only wide spread so the lads said i should be ok but its not a sure bet.

Best thing id say for you to do is apply, you have nothing to lose

if its on your whole body then id say get it cleard up now rather than later, wouldnt think the Doc. would be to impressed if its all over.

Just get some moisturizer and apply morning and night, sorted :)

like the lads said before go and apply mate i had bad ears wen i was a younger mine luckilly got sorted out i had 14 lots of gromits as a kid! and i got told my a civie doc i would never get in hm forces and i ended up in royal!

but regarding getting wet you will spend a lot of time on dartmoor and the common very wet and cold so try your best to get your problem sorted out hope things go well for you!!
ex nod was diagnosed with chronic compartment syndrome rejoining eventually.

Mate dont worry about it, apply and you'll find out on your medical.

Exactly. When i went for my medical with the doc she was seriously doubting that i would get accepted after my operation. To tell you truth my first thoughts were "excuse me, but who the hell are you to tell me what i can and cant do?!" Because i know i can do it. If your condition doesnt actually effect you physically or your state of mind, then it shouldn't be a problem. Just take it step by step and have some patience, because sometimes these things take time and you'll know eventually ok.

All the best. 8)

Found out something interesting today that might help.

I failed my medical due to psorisis, have it on my body and head.

But the thing the Doc. told me was its the stuff on my head thats the problem, she said having it on my body didnt matter it was purely my head.

So you might be ok mate  , obviously I aint a Doc. so dont know for sure but it sounds like it wont be a problem for you.

Cheers,
Jock
