Yomp songs!

Post by wetanddry_51 »

I think its true that its the most annoying, catchy songs going through your head that help the time fly by on a yomp:-
'especially for you' kylie minogue
'reach for the stars' steps :s
What about you lot?
"next detail, outside, pt rig, 15 seconds..........GO!"

When I used to go running with a man, my mum drove me to his house and just before I got there I would desperatly swich the radio channels trying to find a song I liked so it would stick in my head while I was running. Otherwise I would just have the last song I heard in my head. Something like Love by frank or something crap by Robbie Williams.

Wasn't 'Reach For The Stars' by S Club 7?

If I'm right, shows how sad I am

For me, whenever I go on a nice long run it's usually 'Suddenly I See' by KT Tunstall. And don't forget the classic 'Can't Get You Out Of My Head', one of Kylie's cruelest tortures. That song was built for long yomps.

haha kt tunstell listen to the lyrics of that tune and i think you'll feel a bit differently about her (dyke!).

Whats wrong with a bit of old skool or trance on your ipod for a run, works well for me especially when you get into the rhythm of running to the beat on them fast songs like sandstorm.

Not saying her lyrics are any good, just that Suddenly I See is damn catchy

I would love taking my iPod along on a run, but all the runs near me are either by road or by mud, and two weeks ago someone at my school got knocked down when he took his iPod out for a charity run. Luckily he's OK now, but I'll never take an iPod on road runs because of it.

Edit: Another song that goes round my head, 'Glamorous Indie Rock And Roll' by The Killers. That's an awesome song.

I don't have any particular songs that go round in my head, but you can place money on it being the most irritating song in the charts currently. And I find they don't make the time fly but drag slowly on so I have to listen to the same annoying songs for years. :o

im suprised no one has said '500 miles' by the proclaimers! its a classic as it is, but rather appropriate for a yomp, id say :P

 yeah I do sometimes get that actually, towards the end usually, I don't mind that though its quite good for putting a smile on my face, and walking into the pub after a 25+ miler with a smile on your face always makes you look that bit 'arder

Classic tracks when running are. Tunes from rocky, Dance tunes and but all means take an IPOD, I never go running without it. All I do is run on roads with cars whizzing past with meters of space. Running without is boring unless your competing against people. It's one of the best ways to push yourself hard enough tpo benefit from training, with proper psyched up tunes.
THinking about leaving already!

well thats just my opinion :D judge for yourself...

"Suddenly I See"

Her face is a map of the world
Is a map of the world
You can see she's a beautiful girl
She's a beautiful girl
And everything around her is a silver pool of light
The people who surround her feel the benefit of it
It makes you calm
She holds you captivated in her palm

Suddenly I see (Suddenly I see)
This is what I wanna be
Suddenly I see (Suddenly I see)
Why the hell it means so much to me

I feel like walking the world
Like walking the world
You can hear she's a beautiful girl
She's a beautiful girl
She fills up every corner like she's born in black and white
Makes you feel warmer when you're trying to remember
What you heard
She likes to leave you hanging on her word

Suddenly I see (Suddenly I see)
This is what I wanna be
Suddenly I see (Suddenly I see)
Why the hell it means so much to me

And she's taller than most
And she's looking at me
I can see her eyes looking from a page in a magazine
Oh she makes me feel like I could be a tower
A big strong tower
She got the power to be
The power to give
The power to see

Suddenly I see (Suddenly I see)
This is what I wanna be
Suddenly I see (Suddenly I see)
Why the hell it means so much to me
Let us therefore brace ourselves to our duties, and so bear ourselves that, if the British Empire and its Commonwealth last for a thousand years, men will still say, 'This was their finest hour'

If you need rowdy tunes to get you motivated I definatly reccomend The Game "put you on the game" and ll cool j, "momma said knock you out"

I get massive energy burst if I hear any of these 2 songs, music is definatly a big help for me when training, and these 2 songs are first on my list.

No but you have ears for a reason - its another part of the body's survival tools. Just because you can see that you're clear, doesn't mean you are. How many people have probably thought like that?

Remember 'stop, look, listen, live'.

All the best everyone.
