Just a quick point to note - you can't 'transfer' between TA and RMR as such, if you're in the TA now you'll have to get officially discharged before you can start with the RMR. They'll also have to get a copy of your discharge papers and also your medical papers from the TA. You can still get the ball rolling though - you can apply and get your eye test and interview done before you've got your discharge/medical docs, and you'll be able to attend holding troop as well.

I'm going through the same process at the moment, it's a pain in the ass, cos until they get my TA medical papers I can't do my RM medical. That said, gives me a bit more time to train for my PJFT.

Stupid process in my opinion - seen as they're both part of the armed forces I would have thought you would be able to do a simple transfer, but apparently not. It seems pointless bureacracy is the winner here!

Cheers chaps

Thanks for the feedback but decided to stay green and head elsewhere. No difference in travel and are a cracking if somewhat controversial regt.

Thanks anyway.
