any advice??

Post by marinewannabe »

alrite lads , well bad news for me . Got a letter this morning stating that im not fit for re-entry into the royal marines until 2010 . A month ago it looked like i was getting back , 3 medical officers were apointed and it looked gooded until the final decision made by im guessing one of those medical officers. Thing is lads do you think theres any chance coming clean about what happenend would help? or do you think it'll make it worse? . any oppinions would be great lads.

Well if you tell your ACFO, they may test you and if you pass then you should be able to have a another shot at RT.

To be honest you should of really come clean in the first place but am sure you had all sorts of thoughts running through your head at the time hay. Also now that you have been told that your not fit for re-entry until 2010 i'd still come clean NOW because what have you got to lose pal thats a long time to wait. I doubt they will be best pleased with being told fibs but am sure they will be understanding towards you.

bring the truth out pal

kind regards

cheers for the advice lads , only problem is i was just looking at guide to application form and i just saw a part on entry rules .It says any dishonesty of any kind can result in a permenant ban from hm forces . Seriously dont know what to do ? maybe better just waiting the four years.

Well lads, ive realised that i arn't going anywhere near lympstone for four years now , well 3 years 9 months to be precise. :D So what im going to do is make the most of it , im 17 ive got the rest of my life ahead of me and i arn't letting this dominate it .So im going to get a job until september , go to college get my a-levels and go and do my sports degree . Ill be 22 by the end of it all but i'll be so fit , much more mature and have more valuable life experiance im thinking , and as a bonus i have the option as applying as an officer . So thanks for all the help Mfat has been great i will continue to contribute to this site and read the great tales of you lucky B@xxards starting recuit or Yo training . Good luck lads .

That really is a top attitude. Refreshing to hear someone realising their potential. You go for it mate, and your right think who you will be in four years time. I mean, you'll have four years of mfat behind you, you cannot f***ing lose. :D

Good luck mate.

Thats the spirit mate!

Enjoy life, get yourself to uni and get a degree, plenty of time to keep yourself fit, you'll have a whole new outlook on life, be a lot more mature (not saying you arnt now!). Perhaps even get back in as an Officer.

Yeah it's not a great situation, but life is what you make of it, I'd have a cracking 4 years and get back in when your 22 :D

Everyones routing for you mate. I could have gone for it when i was your age but i chose to go to college and further my education before i took on an application - and i have very few regrets about it as i've had some of the best times of my life and made some really good mates and met new ones who are a good laugh.

Enjoy it mate, keep fit, have a laugh, make more friends, shag more girls (but dont forget to wear your wellies!), get drunk, do whatever. Enjoy life as much as possible! :D

Take care, all the best. 8)
