1.5 miler

Post by lewdog »

hey guys I'm keen to to test my 1.5 mile run (to see how I measure up) and would like to know what kind of terrain it's done over(eg: a track, a road or cross country) so I can get an accurate score. I also thought it might be cool if guys posted their own scores on this thread so that people can see how they compare.

thanx

If you're talking about the PJFT, then it's done on a treadmill with 0% incline.

Hi lewdog, the one at the PRMC is a 3 mile run not 1.5 mile. You run the first mile and a half as a group then the other mile and a half back to the start as fast as you can. The limit is 22.5 minutes

Yeah but thats basically a 1.5 mate

The first 1.5 is done in 12.30 and the next 1.5 is now best effort and im sure you have to do it in 10.30 like the PJFT.

As for the terrain its a track/road.

The route isnt perfectly flat but the inclines are minor and it is all on tarmac.

Use either http://www.mapmyrun.com/ or a pedometer on a bicycle to work out your routes to make sure you are running the full distance.

Yes but mancuniankid am i not right in saying that there is only a matter of seconds between stopping and starting again? Im not trying to split hairs but would it or would it not be best just to make sure you can run the 3-mile in around 20 mins or under to be safe?

Another thing about the road's surface, theres alot of holes, and apprently 2 people sprained their ankles on my run. And when you turn round that is not the 1.5 mark. You then go down a diffrent route, rest for about 30 seconds then run back exactly the way you came.

So stinky are you still being timed on that rest? or is it essentially the case that you just have to beat the PTI back?

I don't know if you are timed when you rest but if the PTI behind you is insight at the end then you probably wont make it in time. On our PRMC the PTI came about 1-2 minutes after me and I still didn't make it in time.

If it's still 22:30 then why are some people saying it's now 23:00 split into 12:30 and 10:30? It surely must be 12:30 and 10:00... :-? But if is 23 minutes then why did you (Stinky) fail with a time of 22:44 under the new rules?? Such confusion...

I suppose it doesn't really matter though because we should be beating that anyway.
