I plan to join the infantry but i have a major problem my eyesight is POOR and i wear glasses and this really worries me my fitness is good but i won't be able to get to that if i don't pass the medical, and i started hearing ways of getting better eyesight naturally thorough eye exercises and not having to fork out money for laser eye surgery (the army is strict on the subject anyway).
So i decided to come to people i trust, does anyone know about the subject we all know carrots are good for your eyesight but is it true that these eye exercises help or has my last string of hope just disapperared ?

I read once in a mens health and fitness (so you may not want to believe this) that some lady belived poor vision is not caused by jeans but by straining the eyes. Taking time to relax the eyes everyday by closing your eyes will bring better vison. All I am saying is mens health and fitness mag also believe these eye exercises work.
ive noticed that a fair few of the jobs allow you to whear glasses for simular role's (eg special observer) role ask at the caerrers office see if they have the requirements for eye sight and get a test.
good luck
good luck

mate you will be fine dont worry
glasses aint a bar to the service in the infantry
as long as your within the +/- 6.00 power limit you'll pass so long as your vision is 6/6 when corrected
I'm training for the infantry now and i wear contacts 24/7 and its never been a problem, only time ive took them out is in the gas chamber + swimming pool

But thats just the thing i don't think i'm within the 'power limit' but i might be wrong so i'll ask my optician when i go back in six months, but until then she's told me to wear my glasses 24/7 and chances are my eyesight will get a bit better.Chris Deeside wrote:mate you will be fine dont worry
