may be dumb but Weapons or Marine engineer q?

Post by carw2005 »

Travel is one of the bigges draws for me to join the RN, and i was wondering if Weapons engineering or MArine engineering will offer oppotunities to go to sea. I have heard horror stories of Technicians getting very little sea time and spend most of there career on shore...?

I would be interested in any info from and Marine or Weapons engineers on this site...

cheers

On the RN website it says at the end of your professional training you go to sea.

Marine Engineering.. MEMs spend loads of time on ship.. only down fall is you work hard and sometimes have to work while everyone else is going on run ashore... doesnt mean you wont get to though.
