Afghanistan-Best Mate!

Post by yet_mae »

Aright lads, best mate flew out to Ganners about 10 days ago now I think, he's in 45 based up in Scotland, I havn't recieved an email off him yet but another mate has, anyways. I watched the news last night and 1 Royal had been killed and a few others badly injured from a suicide bomber, the reporter said that the dead Marine was only deployed in the past 2 weeks.

The chances that it's my mate maybe small but it's f@#k worrying,i've known for months that he was going to Afganistan but it's hit me like a ton of bricks now he's actually there. :(

Just wondered if anyone here has any clearer or better details about what happened?

Cheers if you do!

It's horrible to read about it, I know he died "doing his job", but f@#k man! About time they pressed the red button on Afghanistan and blow up the whole place.

As i'm not a Marine what are the chances of my mate being there or near this horrible attack?! He is also in 45 but I don't know how many people were flown out and if they were all there at the same time and all in 1 group?!

Cheers

Yeah it's really weird being worried about your best mate who is in the middle of a warzone, I must be mad!

What are you talkin' about?

Mums, Dads, Auntys,Unlces,Cousins,Nieces,Nephews will all worry, it's natural, especially when you see somethin' like that on the news only days after he left.

Try telling me your not worried when ypur best mate,Brother, Dad or whoever is close to you gets sent somewhere as dangerous as Afghanistan.

Well I found out it wasn't him, just the same unit. Cheers for the InfoI got.

I know you are only concerned for your friends well-being but it's probably a good idea to keep these sort of thoughts to yourself. Blowing up millions of innocent people to kill a few bad ones is a ridiculous idea.

Stinky; you never fail to amaze me with your idiotic posts. Please explain why exactly it is that only mums and maybe dads should worry about servicemen/women in a warzone?

I have 2 friends in Afghanistan at the moment and everytime I hear of another dead.injured soldier I worry that it may be them.

When you are out there (if you make it that far) would you not expect your friends to worry about your safety?
Aways look on the bright side of life.

I never said 'only' mums and dads. I was refering to his friend's mum and dad. Personaly, I wouldn't want my friends worring about me being in iraq.

Welcome to the board mate. It's unfortunate that you were welcomed by the prat.
