Press ups at PRMC

Post by KiloAlpha »

Good day all,

I was wondering with my PRMC coming up, when your tested on the press ups is it flat out not stopping? or to a friend's belief who also is wishing to join , you can rest but at full arm lock in press up position, if someone could clarify what you are and arn't allowed to do i would most gratefull.

Many thanks

You can keep going for 2 minutes, as long as you don't put your knees on the floor. So yes you can stop and lock your arms out and have a rest if you wish, but also if your press ups start looking dodgey, i.e. you are not keeping your elbows in or you are not keeping your body straigh they will deduct!

Not done it myself, but I read on this forum that you can rest for 2-3s, any more and they stop you...

Yeah it's locking arms out to rest, you can rest for a good few seconds and then they encourage you to carry on (or shout at you lol) but as long as your shaking and your actually knackered then you could rest for a lot longer if you can manage it.

Deduct from the ones you've done with good form? Or do they count the bad ones then deduct them at the end?

Seems a bit harsh to deduct the ones that were good.

Yes, but they don't watch you all the time, so how do they know how many bad ones you did?
On my PRMC, they would deduct between 3-5, I didn't get any deducted but it certainly encouraged me to keep good form.

On my prmc I rested after getting to 50 (which must have been around the 1 minute mark) then sqeezed out 7 more but they were deducted for bad form, which leaves quite a bit of time staying in the arms locked position so as the others said its not a problem.

Just remember to keep your elbows tight in and brushing your torso.
