Everybody - stop leaving!!

Post by In_Training »

Hmm, I do think that some people on this site may have developed an un-healthily high opinion of themselves and decided to up sticks!! :-?

What we have all got to remember is that this is an internet forum - and because of this there is the means for potentially billions (give or take a few) of people world wide to come and post on here.

And so I think that the odd poor taste in comment and lack of humour in otherwise well intentioned views from what really is a minority of posts that we receive on MFAT is nothing to be too worried about. It could be a whole lot worse!

MFAT is without a shadow of a doubt THE MOST professional forum based discussion on anything that I have ever been a part of, and I whole heartedly beleive that it supplies the most comprehensive resource for anybody seriously considering the Royal Marines as a career choice.

Much of this status is owed to those 'Old and Bold' who have been there and done it - because we know all to well, it is easy to just sit around and speculate until the cows come home. Much of the reliable and certified advice is from them and we should all be very greatful for that.

I have only witnessed one post that I beleive to have been severily out of order, and this was a recent one by 'milestone'. I do not know what he wrote in the post but from the title - "You are all just wannabe marine faggots" I can imagine it was not advice on doing more press ups!!

I think that this is sad and I do not know what sparked him to write this.

Other than that I beleive that the high integrity of the forums is well maintained and whilst there is at times too much emphasis on spelling, I love the fact that I do not have to read things in 'text speak' abbreviated form and then try to figure out what the person was saying like on so many other forums lol!!

But if we keep losing people at this rate then people will suffer for it - not just us current lot, but any future people wishing to ask questions.

I personally think that nearly every subject imaginable has been covered at some point, but there are those times when a new subject is bought up which in future we may not have the experienced and qualified members to serve a quantiifiable response.

We recently lost James_M and hopfully he will be the last.

Basically guys what im saying is this - We just need to let some of the small stuff go, just imagine how bad it could be (some forums are full of jack asses like milestone).

Oh and in closing a little message to milestone - Sort your f8ckin life out you looser, because if you ever do get to CTC i hope you bump into a few of us "wannabe marine faggots"

(Mods - if you think this is just going to spark a whole load more bitching --which was not the intention-- then please feel free to remove the post)

cheers,

He wanted to know how anyone could fail the PRMC when all you have to do is 20 press ups and run 3 miles. Hmm, I wonder...

Hi,

For stupid little immature people like that milestone, I think you should ban them straight away, forget warnings.

Cheers,

Have to agree with you there Mitch. People like him have no place on this forum and are just here to look for trouble and not add anything valuable to these forums. I think the MODs are too nice to muppets like Milestone.

Your certainly right there Frank....I have not completely left  As you say, I love you all too much, and in that way :o :D

Life has been a bit mental recently and with several PMs from some plonkers and with everything that has been going on I just thought that I had had enough! Anyway I got everything sorted now and I am back. Just got a new job so will try and get on as much as possible though this won't be the 10 hours a day I used to be on just sitting there hitting the refresh button.

As 'In_Training' has said, this site is superb although I do feel it has gone down hill since just lately but as he also says as long as the 'old and bold' are with us to guide us then hopefully we can crack down on the nobbers and keep the site informative and fun!

Cheers

This site has gone down hill quite a bit, but this has happened numourous times and hopefully is just one of those phases, i believe the only reason for this is people are over keen in posting topics or replying to messages. Am quite sure a lot of people agree! for instance James_M has been a valuble member of this forum since 2003 and has posted something a long the lines of 440+ posts!, but now it seems the new generation (which i'm not saying is bad!!) seem to be over keen and that certain people have only been a member a month or two and have well over 300 posts to there name, am not mentioning any names but it's just annoying that people feel as though they have to post for the sake of it, if they have no friends to talk to fair enough, but just replying to a thread for the sake of it just gets boring.

Thats my view anyway but hey don't listen to me what do i know.

My quick two cents!

Simple really, i think the good far outweighs the bad on this site. Yes there are some nobber's, yes there are some bone threads, yes its not all perfect at all times but thats life.

There are some really good posters on this site who make a very valuable contribution and give excellent advice, and many more who add to this and at the very least post sensibly and thoughtfully. There are a few who do not, but even they, although a little annoying sometimes are seemingly just very overly keen about things and a little immature. I dont however think they mean any harm or to annoy anyone on purpose as such. There have been a very small few, who have been arrogant and complete gobshites, given total dross advice and been nothing but negative, BUT they have been dealt with and have either shaped up or been kicked out.

Well it wasnt that quick in the end was it?

Now i,m off to run 24 miles in 8 minutes with a camel and a small house on my back, and maybe swim an ocean or two in preperation for PRMC. :o

Yeah well, thanks for that but there are still rules to follow in those matters, okay?

You do know about the continuum of force right?

This is the Internet, LOL.

Get over it then, faggot. SECOND AND LAST WARNING. Frank S.

It really is amazing what a few words can do to people. I think you are a loser for taking this so seriously. Defending your e-friends and e-honour is not only pathetic, but shows how much of an idiot one person can become.

Milestone just grow up mate. No one wants an argument with you. You were the one coming on this site calling us all wannabe marine faggots. These forums are here for sharing advice and generally speaking to like minded people who want to join the marines or other branches of the armed forces. If you want to use these forums then your free to do so which is the same for everyone but using them to wind people up and call people names isnt on mate. As for defending your e honour I can guarentee you wouldnt call people names like this at the drop of a hat (well sobre anyway :D ). I think that makes you an e hardman. :x

Anyway does calling someone a faggot not deserve another warning.

You're the prick mate. Why did you even register here?

I think you're the one trying to look tough and brave insulting people from behind your keyboard! It's just sad.
