End of Week Three (920 Troop)

Post by -luke-Rm- »

Hi everyone, just finished week 3 and am now at home on leave.
So far so good. Foundation was easy and a good laugh. The phys is also very straight forward. All depends on your training team to how laid back it will be. The 1 thing you should remember is this - If you work for them, they will work for you.
Start of week 3 we moved to our new grots. This is when the work starts. The training team come on very, very strong. We have had inspections every night till 12 then had to wash and iron kit for inspection in the morning. Just have to keep your chin up and crack on. Rifle training is going ok. Practise makes perfect. In the sun CTC could almost pass as a holiday camp.
Its late so i kept it short but do feel free to ask questions and i will answer asap. Remeber guys, your troop is only as strong as its weakest character.

well if they didn't tell you too i'm guessing not..i'll be coming all the way from glasgow (if i pass PRMC, lol) and there's no bloody chance i'll be boarding numerous trains with a 5ft ironing board, i'm guessing you will have enough gear as it is.

You don't need an ironing board in Foundation. You have to buy one when you move out though.

The phys is not that hard but there is a lot of it. Pretty much everyday including a swim but nothing on sundays. The first session in gym test one but the press-ups and sit-ups are done to beeps. This is far easier and you should have no problems. After that you do very basic stuff, rope climbing and circuits. I feel that its more about discipline in the gym to begin with. So far we have only done one 3 miler which was fine.

The ironing situation is personal preference. What i recommend is not to take a board with you. You will look like a tit. Instead buy a few good ironing board covers. This will do you till you leave foundation. After that you need a board but don't buy one. All the kings squad leave theres behind for you so take one of them. However like i said its up to you. If you feel you want to get your own board then thats fine, just dont turn up with one, go to exceter at the weekend. It was funny because half my troop bought ironing boards and we were all in the pub and looked like right wally's. Also take plenty of cash if you can. There are little things you have to buy for your 1st Ex and the cost really does build up.

60 to bleeps is correct. Just dig out and do the best you can.

When going on leave they have to know where you are the whole time. So going oversea's shouldnt be a problem aslong as they know. There is a whole lecture about it in the first week so dont worry, everything will be explained.

Alright lads, was going to start to start a thread as well.

Luke has pretty much hit the nail on the head, although you do need lots of cash to buy kit required, which I was suprised at.

The pace has been very fast every day, so time goes really quickly and you won't get much chance to do anything thats not planned for you.

I have to be honest and say i've really enjoyed it so far, so much has gone on in 3 weeks.
