i applied in january and have passed everything up to now including RMAD but have not yet passed my PJFT, its annoying me because i box every week night which involves high intensity circuits and loads of sparring, i could run all day on the roads and do three miles in 18.45 and my 1.5 mile score on roads is 9.27avg but when it comes to do my PJFT i cant do it, it seems to be treadmills im on my last go now and hope to re-take in 2 weeks, but how do i adjust to treadmill or is it just me, are the to differant, is it jus practise and adjusting to it?
Never heard a problem like that before, go to a gym and practice on one if you cant do it, and get to the stage where you can run it in the required time. Thats all there is to it, Start it off slow then get faster.
no i know its wierd, i think its mental more than anything, runing on the spot and not getting ne wer listening to chad music lol but my breathing seems to be wierd , but thanks
forgot to type: its a bit of both , the RMAD i did fine on which is bleep test 3 miler gym test one basically so i can run, i know you can speed the treadmills up obviously but for me its differant i dont know why they cant test you on a field like they do in the army
personally i think running on a treadmill can feel more draining and harder mentally than doing the same distance outside, in the sense you aren't moving anywhere.
on my PJFT there were a couple before that had failed.

what happend was i tryin to run beofre i could walk, i passed my medical and arranged to do the pjft in the same week , few days after, but i had not been training i was going to wait till i passed my medical then begin, but while i was up in manchester i thought sod it il book it, i thought 1.5 mile yeah easy but id bin being lazy since i left college and underestimated it obviosly its not hard but i was like a fish out of water thats the first one i threw the towl in , second one i had cramp but i got this when on rmad and they said theres no exeptions you cant pull out so thats the second
ive been boxing 2 years now but quit just before christmas last year , i had no time i was fit then, i re started training in febuary this year but got injured in april and avent been training sice the end of april, at boxing the warmup up is 20 mins skiping streches etc, then a hard cardio circuit involving alot of running then we move on to press ups stomach bag /pad work then finish with sparring, i run 5 mile a night up a steep hill come home and bash out some more sets, im alright at press ups etc i just no i would crumble on bottom field with my current level of fitness i do have alot of mentle stamina but if u cant physically do it you cant do it....
best advice i can give you is to get on a treadmill at your gym and just keep gunning for that time, you will eventually work you way down to your prefered time. just don't give up

Never Ever give up
Taking life one step at a time...
just practise on a treadmill in a gym and work out the minimum speed you are able to run at and still pass, then when doing your timed run keep it at at least that speed and you can't go wrong...when i was doing mine the guy in the gym said keep it at this speed and you will pass (i cant remember what the speed was) although the last few minutes i just put the speed up and went all out for the best time possible
