Am i to unfit ???!!!

Post by Rob_404 »

Hi guys im starting my basic on the 22 of this mounth which is like 8 days away, i am 16 and joining as a jounior entrant in bassingbourn.
In RSC i only had to do the 1.5 mile run in 14.30 and didnt have to do any heaves. My christmas was a bit to good realy an havent trained much at all i jus started this week and i am realy worryed that i will be the worst physical an let my section down hears my fitness

1.5 mile run = 10min
2 min of sit ups = 55
2 min of press ups = 43

my pull-ups are pathetic an can only do 3 :(

I no its my own fault but how do u all think ill cope in basic ?????

As long as you give 110% and show you are willing an determined you should be ok. Your pull ups will get better the more you do them. Just keep the end goal in mind an dont jack. Alot of the guys on here will tell you ''train hard fight easy'' ,I would say thats sound advice. Good luck!.

Mate dont worry about your pull ups they will come with time as websters said, when I started my training programme I couldn't even do 3 consecutive pull ups, now I can do 8 after a 3 mile run and 70 press ups!

What I found useful was to preform a set every hour, every other day, of 2 chin ups to start with. Do this for a week (should be getting about 16 odd chin ups a day), then the second week increase amount to three chin up every hour. Then four chin ups, then five chin ups and so on... It will single out muscles you need to use and strengthen them.

Don't worry about it, you wouldn't be put through from RSC, without the instructors thinking your fit enough. I was really nervous when i first went, but after the first 1.5 mile run in the first week, i realised that everyone tried as hard as they could, basically if you put your all into it, the insturcutors wont have a problem, and they will give you every possible assistance to get you through it. So keep the head up and just try your best.

Hey mate

You are way ahead of a lot of the blokes I went to RSC with and they were older than you-this includes one twat who was trying for infantry. Keep positive mentally and the training will build you up physically.

Look, I realise English is not your native tongue, but make an effort, would you? :D

Steer clear of any trade that requires basic literacy and you'll get along famously!
