START TRAINING 29th August!!!

Post by lew »

Ok fella’s, thought it was about time I announced my intake date, :D cant believe it really, I’m amazed it has happened!

Is there anyone else lurking in the dark shadowy depths of the forum (no not you doc :P ) who will be joining up on the same date?

I think it’s time I relinquished my STAB status and handed in my notice and my kit next week. Yay no more washing land rovers and sweeping the hanger.

Will be good to finally see what CTC is really like, oh and stinky or the person who is pretending to be stinky, hi jack this thread at your own peril!!!

lew

p.s. you can all expect a kit list thread from me in the coming weeks :P

lew id be interested to know what kit you get to keep and what you hand back in, ive been told you hand back absolutly everything, even your 95's, socks and boots, but i was hoping to keep them for spares during basic, i wanted to keep the sausage bag too

and what happens with the kit that youve misplaced or damaged, are you charged for it, as i have no idea where my original knife, fork, spoon are

good luck at CTC, you seem like you have the right attitude to suceed, and although its going to be roasting this time of year, at least your nights on stag will be pleasant :) actually utll be pretty cold by the time you pass out :-?

Hey mate cheers, I’m going to give my uniform back etc, am keeping the boots though, thought about handing back the new ones they gave me on prmc, but then thought no, sod that they’ll be expecting worn ones so went off to get some grade 3's from a surplus store. Most of my stuff is still in the locker at TAC, so shouldn’t be a problem, but I think I will be writing a few cheques to pay for broken lost lent kit etc.

All the best.

When I left the TA I had to hand back literally every, and I mean everything (even those ear plugs!!!).

Thing is, they have a bit of savvy and realise you will lose stuff in the field etc. I lost in the field a green tshirt, 3 pairs of socks and a my headover....(none really lost...just said was lost).

As it was things as small as that I didnt get billed for it. But I would imagine you'd get billed for boots etc.

Best of luck in training Lew. You will see me there (I'm being confident about my injury now! hehe)

Well, it is better cold rather than hot. Just think of you Commando tests. baking f@#k heat, warm air entering you lungs too warm to cool you, you fatigue 4x faster yet there no water, and you told to crack on. Now how do you feel???
