Passed PRMC

Post by braywick »

Finally cracked it second time round, looking forward to starting training soon.. Well done Canuck for passing too! 8)

However before I go out on the piss I thought I would let you all know about all the PRMC changes.

You now do the three mile run first thing in the morning on the first full day, with Gym test 1 in the afternoon, that means bottom field is moved to the following morning and Gym test 2 remains the last event.

As Stix mentioned on a earlier post, the three mile run is now run as a squad the whole way. The theory behind the move is that more people will pass the three mile run because your legs are fresh.

It all makes for an horrific last day, but it doesn't change what is required to pass the course, 100% determination and effort.

I failed the three mile run on my first PRMC, and the only reason I failed was because I only did one 3 mile run before my PRMC and that was on a treadmill.

Make sure you can run 3 miles in under 22 minutes, and run it regularly outdoors. To give yourself the best chance of passing the run you should try to do 4 or 5 mile runs, and get your three mile time under 21.30.

If anyone has any questions I'll be happy to answer them..

Cheers

Braywick

25 passed out of 40, and I would say Gym Test 2 was the hardest.
I actually found bottom field harder on my first PRMC, but this time round I was really hanging out on Gym test 2.

The worst feeling is being on the train home knowing you've failed.

As Canuck is my flatmate, I can say that we celebrated hard all night, and the poor bugger can hardly walk today due to all the Phys. We're headed down to the Leisure Centre to see if he can repair his legs and/or the hangover. From what he has told me, it was the most demanding time of his life. Apparently the 3 Miler is now done as the first phys test. Well done Colin, and Braywick!

Well done mate.

On gym test 1, does the bleep test come first?

It does indeed, it's the only time you don't do a cheeky warmup first!!
Pressups next, followed by situps and then pullups.
