Another Broken Nod from MF! (i think thats 4 so far)

Post by Rugee »

Hello all, thought i would drop by seen as im on sick leave. I fell off the ropes a couple of weeks ago week 17 on bottom field and broke my ankle. Consequently it was an ambulance and morphine job to the hospital where i had an operation and now i have a pin in my ankle and all 3 of the bones broken!
So as you can imagine im in Hunter and yes it is sh*t! The doctor and physio have also warned me that the injury may not heal sufficiently for me to complete training, which could mean a medical discharge. And if i do pass out i need to be looking for an SQ where i wont be doing lots of load carrys and the like.
Oh yeh and its going to take me 6 months roughly before i'll be running in boots again:cry:. But the physio won't be able to tell properly, till im out of plaster. So now ive just got to hope i heal well and bloody quickly!

Cheers Ian

Well Ian, that's the bad news.
The good news is that you can still use your arms, so back into the gym and keep the rest of you fit, also get in the pool as soon as the cast is off, you can do front and back crawl using one leg only. Positive attitude, positive outlook, looks good for the instructors, and makes them more likely to go the extra yard to help you.

Yours brasses and boots will be immaculate WHEN you get back into a squad.
You should talk to somebody who gives a f**k.

He doesnt need a miracle just positive thinking. Like numbnuts (prefer El Prez) said keep upper body fit and show willing.

Hope it goes well.

Hope your injury gets back to normal as soon as it possibly can. I broke my left hand a few years ago and thought I would have to leave university as I could not play piano any more. But I did physio exercises and moved it about as much as I could once it had healed and It was as good as new! The physio said I came on really quick and I only had 2 sessions before being told I was back to normal. So just work hard at physio stuff once your able and im sure it will be fine

good luck

Thanks all. I am going to stick it out, but as you can imagine at times it does get on top of you a bit. Besides im not the first to fall of the ropes and i certainly won't be the last. Im just going to hammer the upperbody while im in hunter, and get my rope climbing and regain technique tip top. I want to come out of hunter as fit as humanly possible.
Daveb i was in week 17 when i did it mate.

Role on King's Squad. 8) :D

2 Bravo

Sorry to hear so many of you have made it into Hunter  Weren't you all 881 originally except Rugee? Just saw your lot coming back off Final Ex yesterday as we got in from Violent Entry. We saw the ambulance come down for you, we were in the stances playing with a gimpy at the time I think, someone told us later someone had fallen. Chin up anyhow, hopefully they'll fix you soon enough...BTW, don't lend anything to Parker, you'll not see it again!
