well someone posted somewhere a tip that helped me lots:

-do 10 pressups then rest in the ''up'' position for 3 seconds
-do 9 pressups and then rest in ''up'' pos for 3 secs
-do 7, rest and so on....after a few DAYS you will notice the difference

makes sure you're doing the right press ups first, if you're doing the press ups from the booklet then you're probably not. You must keep your elbows locked firmly into your sides so it's harder on the triceps, that must be your first priority with marine pressups. Beyond that, in terms of increasing your pressup numbers, use the search facility as there is a wealth of information on this sites concerning rpessups.
Bottom line though, just keep doing LOADS and LOADS, you can't fail to improve

Pal im week 14 and i cant do 60 press ups!(Ive allways been crap at them, i can probably do about 40 tops now) so don't stress to much about it. The only thing you need to worry about is keeping going when your hanging out your arse.

Cheers Ian

lololol Now thats the most inspiring thing ive seen yet on this board hehe.

jase25064342 Ive done a PRMC already and failed, I only done 46 pressups and that was not the reason i failed, As rugee said its all about never giving up and pushing yourself. People have passed PRMC's with pressups in the 30's.

I'v started to try doing 20 Push-ups, rest for 1-2 mins then and repeat till 3 sets have been done to a total of 60 push-ups and try and shorten the rest time. Otherwise just do as many as you can everyday but leave two for rest days so yous muscles can develop.

A lad in my room passed with 31. you want to get prees ups nailed as there the most common punishment. we got a punishment at the end of day 2 and when you that knackered 25 press ups is horrible, then some idiot stood up and we all got another 10. :x
