Ultimate sacrifice.
Hi did anyone see in recent papers the caption about the us marine in Fallujah who risked his life by dashing out of cover to drag a fallen comrade to safety. ( he done this because insurgents where still shooting at the wounded marine on the ground) It tells what happened and showed a picture of the us marine dragging the fellow wounded marine who was wounded in the middle of a road (no cover) to safety. In another picture it shows the marine still dragging his comrade but shows another marine who has rushed to aid in dragging the body, falling to the floor from being hit. Also later in the caption it says how that the marine sgt was also hit and wounded from carrying out his heroic acts. from reading about this my respect for american troops has increased considrably. All this talk about them being mal-trained rookies I feel is nonsense.

Well I feel since the royal marines and the us marines are supposed to be Britains and Americas equiveliant of each other and have carried out several operations together in Iraq I felt this was the most appropriate place to post this. Sorry for any disagreements. If so I will refrain from posting such topics on the royal marine section in future.
