how do u know when your ready

just wanting to know how they decided they where ready for a prmc. Last time i just went down got a date and trained as hard as i could till my date.
Passed PJFT 14 NOV - 9:30
PRMC - march - failed

I guess it depends on the guy you speak with at the AFCO. I went last week and he said he will put me in for a prmc when I can do the 1.5 mile tredmill run in 8:41 or less. I don't know why the :41, could have just said 8:40, made me laugh (not while I was there though, when I left, heh)

I went to see my AFCO with my PJFT results (8.25) and he just said "so, when do you wanna go on your PRMC?". I had a choice of 18th or 28th November.....I chose 28th as it gives me 2 extra weeks to train.

I am training hard at the moment, but not so hard that it will cause me injury. I'm nervous....very nervous about it, but I will give 110% when I get there :)

Daveb how fast did your running machine go up to, just curious as I didn't think it was possible to get a time that low, not saying you are lying, just wondering. :-?

I think the treadmill at my gym can go upto around 20mph. Something stupid anyway!

Towards the end, I was on level 15, I haven't got a clue how fast that was though mate to be honest :) It could go higher apparently, according to the fitness instructor there
