Re-Joining RNR

Post by Colin »

Hi all, my name is Colin

Are there any MA's out there in the RNR?

I used to be in the RNR at HMS Wessex in the early nineties as an RO2(G).
I was made redundent under the 'Options for Change' Defence Review, when they amalgamated three Divisions into one, but only wanted the manpower of one division.

I am currently a Healthcare Assistant in the NHS on a busy Trauma/Orthopaedic Ward. I am also 42. I am wishing to re-join the RNR as an MA. I already have the NVQ 2 and near completing the NVQ 3 in Direct Care.

Will my age go against me?
Will my previous service go against me?
Will my NHS certificates help?
And will I have to do HMS Raleigh again?

Sorry for all the questions but HMS King Alfred is not open for business yet.

Regards

COlin
