PULL UPS!!

Post by COMBAT WOMBAT »

HEY!!
Do you remember that a few weeks ago i set up a thread about puul ups saying i couldn't do a single one? Anyway, up till two weeks ago i coul only do one, and that was not even with the chin properly over the bar. This morning i did 3 proper ones with the chin over the bar and everything!!! :P
Three pullups isn't very impressive i know, but just thought i'd share that with you, as pullups have eluded my for the last 18 years and i'm over the fooking moon man!!!

if you wanna get more pull ups under your belt head to a gym and get on the lat pull down machine. works wonders on back muscles i started by being able to to 3 pull ups about 7 weeks ago now i can do 12, i achived this by doing loads on the lat pull down and every time i walked past by chin up bar just banged out the max i could do.

Well done mate keep at it

Go to a kiddies playground and use the swing crossbar as your pullup beam. Or alternatively use a lower bar, if available, and do your pull ups with your knees together and heels raised and crossed behind you. (Read that last bit again) 8)
If you have 2 weeks to go there's time, it just needs application and three sets every day.

Yes Prez.....I use the crossbeam on the swings of the local school playground. Or a tree branch when I'm out running.

my dad won't let me put up a chinup bar in the house for fear of me tearing the place down. So i have to wait till he's out then use the rod from the vacuum cleaner and put that on top of my door and my wardrobe!
the hinges on my door are going funny now, i hope i haven't damaged anything. SHHHHH 8)

The screws I got with mine are a heap of shite. Took me ages to screw em in and now the heads are buggered so I can't wait until I take them out. Or attempt to.

Any ideas.

And don't say rip em out please!!

If they are posi-drive, use a new screwdriver, tap the handle of the screwdriver with a hammer as you try and unwind the screw. It helps seat the screwdriver head, and creates a new seat for the head.
If it's a straight cut screw, use a chisel point screwdriverand hit it firmly with the hammer, same routine.

I was only ever able to do a few chin ups. Then bought a chinning bar from Argos, £6.95. You stick it up in your doorway, and its fairly sturdy.
Good piece of equipment.
