RSC soon

Post by 4z5 »

Hi I have Recruit selection centre soon, and I was wondering about the pressups. How do you have to do them? do you just thrash out as many as you can as fast as you can in the two minutes, or to you have to take your time?

is it like... downupdownupdownup

or

Down..hold...up...hold...down..hold..up...

thanks :D

You don't have to do any during RSC. Good luck with selection mate.

i did it a couple of weeks ago, there wernt any press ups or sit ups, we had to do heaves to the beam, a 60kg lift which is harder than you think and a back extension, you then have to do a 1.5 mile run. The hardest part of RSC in my opinion was the ice breaker.

I got 9:40, i was hoping to do it abit quicker than that. At RSC lichfield you run a 2 lap course and i went to fast to early and burned out on the second lap. After 24 weeks basic though hopefully ill be able to do it in sub 9 mins though thats what im aiming for.

They do test your upper body strength, just not by doing press-ups or sit-ups. Unless they've changed it from april 10th which i seriuosly doubt. When you go to your RSC brief theres a video which all show you what to expect.

yes, they dont do sit ups and press ups at selection tests, It compromises of a 1.5 mile run, a V2O bleep test, heaves, a static dead lift, back extension test and a overhead lift, though not in that order.
