Post by james_m »

I heard about this PJFT and was wondering:
How long is the run? (Heard it was 1.5 miles)
and In what time does it have to be done??

Yeah I have been thinking it over for ages because I have always wanted to join!
I have almost finished my first year doing A-Levels but I HATE it!
So might join after this year is up...or might do the second year.
I am still unsure!!

What about you??

If you're gonna drop out just have a good reason for it; the interview is fairly searching, and they're good at picking up liars. Don't just turn round and say because you couldn't be bothered; have a structured reason. And the PJFT is very easy compared to the rest of it, aim for around 9 mins or less before you get as far as PRMC.

I presonally think the PJFT should be changed so that you have to get under 9:30. Why let people attempt the PRMC if they can only run it in 10minutes knowing fullwell that the PTI's are going to make either the first or last 1.5miles of the 3miler faster than that?!

yeah the coporals down there say its the easiest bit.. they put it to me like " tomorrow get up have a little jog and hen some games in the gym" i laughed when he said that.. but just dig in.. worry more about bottom field.. but even that is pretty easy to keep going. all though i admit to trowing up twice on that one..

I attempted my first ''practice'' 1.5 mile run at the gym today. Taking into account the belt had to speed up-i pulled it off in 8:36. I was well chuffed-but i dont wanna get overconfident cos i know my training routine is just beginning! :-?

Ta. I meant that over the last week-id been running at different speeds and that and this was the first time i tried to do the mile and a half. i got '8.36' when it ticked onto 1.5 miles- but the timer started when the belt was at walking pace (speed 1)-so i meant that if i wouldv'e started timing at speed 9.8 or whatever it was-it wouldve been a few seconds quicker- maybe 8.30 or summin :-? oh well- ill try and get it quicker than that-i reckon i could do-its just the fear of wobbling too far over to one side and one leg steps on the side and one leg shoots behind me resulting in me going flying :-?
Bloody Arse!
