POC 9th feb

Post by westy_1981 »

is it just me or is there quite a few of us going down on the 9th? everyone going down on sunday?

sounds good boys!!! just wondered how old u lot r ?

hope the nature walk and sightseeing tour of the local countryside doesn't get us too dirty !!!

everyone got their 3 minute presentation sorted?

not to depress everyone but dartmoor seems to be getting colder, was up there working today (i know, glutton for punishment - why would anyone choose to work there?!?!?!) we had snow, horizontal rain, gale force wind and it was a touch cold!!

not to worry tho boys , the careers officer assured me there's gonna be a heatwave starting in feb, and the snow had been cancelled as he was going to be running the POC.

what's everyone managing for their 4 milers? i'm doing between 28 and 29 mins over fairly undulating roads.

cheers boys, see u on the 9th!!!

Hey Westy, Its me, you, Butch and Kwew going down so far. Im 18 by the way and i think Kwew is too. Have you decided what to do your presentation on yet? Also whats your training regime like? Im always ready to hear about how much other people beast themselves, its quite fun really!

There's wad1 as well from this site going down at the same time. I'm 22 so a wee bit older than you boys. Not too sure about that heatwave that you're talking about westy but, in comparison to the temperatures we've had up here, it might just seem like that. As for the 4 milers, not sure of my times, as i've been concentrating on 7 and 9 milers for ages, but last time I did 4 miles I finished in about 26-28 mins.

Take it easy boys, and I look forward to seeing everyone down there.

good to hear from u boys!! thanks for the responses. i'm a bit older than you lot at 22, reckon i'll be going down on the sunday as well. i only live about half an hour from lympstone, but reckon it'd be much better to have the time to settle in and get to know everyone.

as for the training, trying to vary the distances between 4 milers and 12 milers in boots and trainers. also doing a lot of circuits of press ups , sit ups and pull ups, so they get progressively harder cos u know they're gonna beast us before the tests.
can't wait to be down there, good luck to eveyone!!!
