Hi terry, I may have told you this but the longest run you embrace during the time at HMS Raleigh is 4.8 miles in 35 minutes....

My PB For this is : 5 miles in 32 minutes or 4.8 miles in 30 minutes 45 seconds.

What they are asking for is at least a 7 minute / mile, might give the chubbier recruit a hard time passing it...

P.S You can do it!! If I can so can you! All you need to do is just train for more distance!

PHIL :) No worrys there eh?

i dont think its so Far....

i was in the RNR and we had to do a 2 week course down in HMS Raleigh, and the longest run we did was 1.5 mile, same with all the Regular Recruits.

so 1.5 was the distance....equals...5 and a half times round the Astro Turf Football pitches behind the gym :)
did it in 10:30secs...bearing in mind i had just do a Level 12 in the Bleep Test.

Have a look at the HMS Raleigh video again terry you'll see the 4.8 Mile run in 35 minutes they all have to do it...

Tiff's might have a harder time they might get a 6 miler!!...

Best to ask at AFCO to be sure, but I know for a fact it's on the HMS Raleigh video.

Hi Terry,

About the 4.8 M endurance run. I asked AFCO Liverpool and they said it got scrapped to fit more Seamanship training in, so, I am sorry to say they will not be doing it :(. That Fort 4 Mile run I don't know, they may still do it for Tiff's but definitely NOT normal ratings.

The HMS Raleigh video is a bit 'out of date' we need another for training purposes :) maybe they'd film us wasters down at Raleigh for that remark! :D .

PHIL 8) - That run is definitely on the HMS Raleigh video, 'Attention to Detail' is needed here I think.
