The infantry familiarisation course is down at Warminster and basically gives you a feel of life in the army but especially infantry. You will get a couple of lectures about the infantry and regiments within it, you will meet infantry officers, do command tasks, assault course, interview and a fitness assesment. It's all to make sure that you are making the right choice and for them to see if you will fit in. Afraid I don't know anything about the other one.
Sponsorship (RCB)
Afternoon all,
I literally just accepted sponsorship through RCB from an infantry Regiment, but I'm still planning on joining the Paras. I have an intervierw with them soon; and I'm sure it would be useful on all our parts to have a chat about applying, interviews etc.. So any of you potential Infantry/ Para officers reply; as I'm sure the shared experiences and advice will be invaluable.
Cheers.

i'm not going for the Paras now at all, but when I was in my 2nd year of 6th form i went on a familiarisation visit down at browning barracks in aldershot (october 2001). i was nowhere near prepared enough physically, made a fool of myself pretty much. all i'd say is if you want to go on a para visit (they do this one, then the POC as far as i know) then make sure your 1.5 mile is 9:30 at most, and you can do 50 press-ups minimum, at least 50 situps and at least 10 pull ups off the beam.
all you guys interested in the paras, especially as an officer, just be prepared for pain...best of luck.
i'm gonna go intelligence corps myself when i finish uni.
