Well it wasn’t quite the bloodbath that the rellies predicted. Slow first half ended Wallabies 17 Ireland 14 with not much to say about it. The second was much better and, despite some “controversial” refereeing decisions in their favour, the Irish were much the poorer team. Their pack couldn’t get it together and there were too many individualist plays. The Australians were all over them, with a 47-17 win. They’ve some brilliant players, watch out for Captain George Gregan( mini Jonah Lomu), Wendell Sailor and George Smith. They have a right monster of a man in Lote Toquri.
It’s Wales` turn in Sydney next week, with England in Melbourne on June 21. The test series ends August 16 against the All Blacks in NZ.
The pools for the World Cup look like this,
