Just a few points to ammend/add.

51 Sqn RAF Regt is based at RAF Lossiemouth.

37 Sqn is not based at RAF Honnington, but at RAF Wittering.

RAF Regt field sqns are based on an all up strength of 164 men, split into HQ Flt, 3 Rifle Flts and a Manoeuvre Support Flt. Man Sp Flt contains the 81mm Mortar sections, GPMG(SF) and snipers. All the Flts are LR borne, and are therefore highly mobile. WMIK is being introduced to RAF Regt field sqns to increase mobile firepower.

3 Sqn operates a slightly different ORBAT, due to its IS role.

RAF Tac STOs don't really have a training role, that is the task of each station RAF Regt section. The RAF Regt Tac STO acts as a C2 hub for ground defence and survive to operate operations. Depending on the op, they would normally have an RAF Regt field sqn, maybe a Rapier sqn, RAF Police, EOD, etc, under command.

Cheers for that Rockape!
I`m always eager to learn more about the Regiment.

Sorry to sound ignorant, but what`s the IS role operated by 3 Sqn ?

3 Sqn has an Internal Security (IS) role, based out of RAF Aldergrove. In days gone by, they were responsible for the protection of the RAF airfield and International Airport. They still do some of that, however they're used far more Province wide now, conducting ops in support of the Army.
