Hi from South Africa,
I served in the Rhodesian bushwar 30 years ago. In my mid forties I had a breakdown and went through Alcoholism and Depression. Is that not a very long time after to blame some bad things that you saw? What do you think?
Cheers

I think that it takes very little to trigger off memories - and to pile them up
into something that won't go away.
It would depend on whether the experiences were just lying there waiting
to bounce back, or whether a drink or two on a bad night was enough to
start them off ....
Difficult question really - it would depend on how long after the affair you
turned forty - My bags were packed when UDI came along ( we were quite 'handy' near ) but we were not sent on the day of the race ).
How are you doing now then ? Coping ? any 'after effects ?
