Bookmarks

Post by Sisyphus »

Any computer buffs out there who can tell me whether it's possible to copy Bookmark Folders onto a CD-RW for back-up?

I've managed to backup all my important folders but can't figure out how to do the same with my Bookmarks [and I've got quite a few, which would be a pain to reconstruct if my PC ever crashes -even if I could remember them all :( ]

There again, if you can't then the info won't be wasted as it will save me hours in trying to figure out how to!

Cheers!

You can copy your bookmarks to a CD if you like, they appear as internet shortcuts when you open the CD.

If you've got a Yahoo ID, you can add your bookmarks to your My Yahoo page then access them from any computer.

Cheers T_T

But how do I do this? When I rt. click on a folder I get a choice of:
New Bookmark, New Folder, New Separator/Cut, Copy,Paste/Delete, Sort, Properties.

The vast majority of my bookmarks are in Mozilla.
I've tried using Copy and pasting to a Word Document but no joy.

When I right click on a bookmark folder in MS Internet Explorer I do get the 'Send to > (E: ) option but this doesn't happen with Mozilla.

Use the copy function and paste it onto the CD-ROM.

Ok mate I'll make it a bit clearer for you but I do know what Tartan is saying.

If you are using Internet Explorer-

Click File (top left)

Go to Import/Export then it will bring up a box which explains what you are doing, Click Next

Under choose action click on Export Favorites and again click next

On the next page dont change anything unless you want to only save certain folders of your bookmarks, click next

Now choose were you would like your bookmark saved file to go e.g. the Desktop or My Documents folder then click next then finish and your done and ready to burn the file to a CD.

If you are using Firefox-

Click on Bookmarks on Top Bar, then scroll down and click on Organize Bookmarks

Then click File on the popped up window and click Export then again choose were you want the saved file to go and your done, Ready to burn file onto a CD.

If you need help with anything else like this just PM me mate. :)
