Getting there

Post by boston lad »

well ive made the first six weeks, just got back off a longweek end leave, not been easy though. Been beasted numerous times for silly mistakes, but my fitness levels have gone up a tremendous level, run time 9.07, from 9.20, and its hilly round here, so feeling quite pleased about that.

Luckily most of the lads in my section and platoon seem to be decent bunch of people. Ive got a slight mong streak at drilling though, but i passed the drill test last thursday, so got there in the end. Even though the maroon berets got a green plastic bit on it i still feel a sence of achivement having got this far.

More hard work to come yet, but its going to be worth it!.

Stick with it jo!

It will get progressivly harder from here on, but your next point of aim is the week12 leave. So keep that in your sights.

Take the beastings on the chin, the instructors will mostly be decent blokes in real life, its just they have to be c***s to you in training

Are you enjoying the exercises? Steel Eagle is your next one and its quite good...first fully tactical exercise (atleast yours wont be in 2ft of snow like mine!! :P )

Yea as the grungy green fella above says, take the thrashings on the chin and remember "take the pain, play the game!" make it into you versus the staff, and if you jack it in, the staff win. Got me through plenty of hairy beastings i can tell ya!

Keep workin hard mate, and look forward to the excersies to come as they are f*uckin awesome!

Oh with the benefit of hindsight I wish I could be saying that...... :(
Take my advice and dont jack. Not a day goes by when I dont think of what I could have done and achieved.
What seems a good idea at the time always comes back to haunt you.
