I recently read in the local Newspaper about a young soldier who was viciously assaulted by several people after a night out. This is the area where I grew up and went home on leave when I served in the Marines. I used to get a load of crap and offers of violence off the locals, but I didn't tollerate them, and generaly gave them a whole lot more than they bargained for.

Its unfortunate that this young man, on his first home leave wasn't able to defend himself against the odds he came up against. His attackers were nothing more than mindless morons.

He's young and will hopefully grow into a fearsome soldier who will one day take his retribution.

looks like whoever attacked him is in for some serious community hours and counselling,

I will guarantee everyone of these people that have done this, will have committed a crime before and known to the police.

My theory is simple, the first offence the court has a go at rehabilitating you, your second offence, the rest of us have a go. There will be no further offences for rehabilitation.

Actions speak louder than words. I wrote about some of the dickheads whom I came across when I served and I did give them my kind of justice. Maybe you're right because they never came back for more!!

I just find it annoying that people join up to become part of Britian's military machine and ars*holes like these want to have a go at them when they come home on leave.

Like I said: Hopefully one day this man will take his retribution with them.

The second you join the services you become a target just becasue of what you are...who thought you'd have to use the training you were taught on the bastards from the same country...i agree with the idea of public rehabilitation
A similar incident happened around my area recently also...

I was attacked years ago when I was just 19, 3 years into the Marines, 3 lads thrown out of church at Midnight mass on Christmas eve, I am nearly 50 now and the scar left on my face by the modeling knife still shows up in cold weather, justice was done as I was young and stupid. One thing is that one of the same guys bought me a pint when I came back from the Falklands. I don,t think much has changed since kipplings day, not Mr but Rudyard in that were the scum of the earth until we are needed.
