Hi there,
Im new to the forum.
You'll find this site really useful should you require anymore info:
http://www.thestudentroom.co.uk/forumdisplay.php?f=96
There are a lot of people on there who are/have applied to the RAF, both Trade and Officer and also people who are training/already in or were in the RAF.
Me personally I was at OASC in september, passed and should hopefully be starting IOT in January
(subject to medical
)

Ok, the commissioning process starts at your local AFCO with a 'P2' Presentation. This is essentially an overview of the application, training and lifestlye of the RAF. After this you get given the application forms and can then book a formal filter interview at the AFCO.
Your performance in this as well as your application forms will decide whether you can go to OASC or not.
If you get to OASC you will sit the apptitude tests first for all branches. You will then either have your medical or your interview first depending on how its running. After these three things are complete then you will be assesed by the board as either being suitable to proceed to phase 2 of the process or to be binned.
If you get to phase 2 then you will complete a group discussion, group problem solving exercise, leaderless and leadership exercises in the hangar. I think they have also re-introduced the individual problem solving exercise as well.
You will then hear either way within a month of leaving.
As for Int, its a great job which can take you down a lot of different routes and can lead on to very specialised areas. Its a hard branch to get into with only about 4 slots a year. Best of luck.

Eat pie and fly - That's the multi-engined way
