Does Engineering TA Soldier carry a rifle

Does the ta engineering soldier carry a rifle when on tour of duty. does all the soldier get rifles when the get called out to war or etc

Soldier first - tradesman second. There are no demarcation lines in Army trades when it comes to killing people before they kill you.

Please think about this - it is important.

Given that Cbt Engrs often enter the fray a hair's breadth before the infantry, don't you think it might be a good idea to be armed? Bone question (yours, not mine that is).

Even the remfiest of remfs need to be packing as, in this here "asymetric battlefield" we're involved in, it's as easy to hit the ech as it is to hit the pointy end.

But if you do find yourself unarmed m8, just remember that you'll have a spanner with you at all times which can be quiet painful to the enemy if you hit them with it.

Not so effective for long range attacking though.

They might give you a rifle or the ammo for one, idea is to find a rifle when one of your mates drops Enemy at the Gate style

However if you are RGJ you get ammo AND a rifle!
