Some questions

Post by scotty »

Hi, sorry if this post is a bit strange, i just need to know some answers to some random questions. Any help is appreciated. Ive tried searching on the internet but i havent found everything and im not that computer-literate.

Where are the paras based? Is it Colchester?
What are the current areas of operations?
What (if any) academic qualifications are needed to join?
What do you have to do for the selection - i.e. BARB tests, 1.5 miles etc?
Is the 1.5 mile run still in under 9 mins?
Is P Coy the next step from selection (the 1.5 miles run etc)? Or is there other basic training?

Thanks for any help, im still searching on the internet so i may answer some of my own questions anyway.

Yes they are based in colchester along with 16 air assualt brigade! At the moment areas of operations are mainly afghanistan where much of the brigade is deployed now.
Go to the Paras website: http://www.army.mod.uk/para/
or the armyjobs website: http://www.armyjobs.mod.uk/RegularArmy/RolesAndCareers/

these should have some info on the selection process etc.
